Andy Gadd –Managing Director

Beginning his career as an apprentice pipe fitter welder, Andy Gadd has been in the engineering and construction trade for nearly forty years. His career has enabled him to experience the industry from a variety of standpoints, from fabrication work to site supervisor roles to general management.

Prior to establishing Valley Reinforcement, Andy Gadd notably spent 11 years in the family business at Basing Developments Ltd, during which time he oversaw all aspects of the company's building, civil engineering, roofing, cladding and steel fabrication work to create a highly regarded operation.

Rising through the ranks, Andy is as committed to his trade today as he has ever been. The success of VR is largely down to his unwavering ability to deliver to client requirements and build teams of committed talented staff. Looking to the future, Andy will be working to ensure that the core values upon which VR has been built are successfully carried into future generations.

Bob Gadd – Contract Manager

Painting steel throughout his childhood, Bob Gadd has always had metal in his make-up! Like his father, firsthand experience was gained via an apprenticeship as a fabricator welder, later backed up with a City & Guilds qualification. Bob joined VR in 2001 in a hands-on fabricator role before becoming Foreman and now, Contract Manager. With steel running through his veins, Bob still loves to get his hands dirty though and delights in undertaking bespoke artistic commissions.

Katie-Mae Baker – Reinforcement & Handrail Sales

Katie started working in the office helping her father whenever possible, and gained a good understanding of the working environment and the dedication needed to run a family business. Katie's first career love was travel and tourism. With qualifications and an extensive background in the travel industry, she has worked at both Cardiff and Southampton International Airports, Katie also takes responsibility for HR and administration for the rest of the team. Joining VR group, her customer service skills are expertly applied to the sales of VR’s reinforcement and handrail products.

Sara Pettitt – Business Development Manager

Prior to joining forces with VR in 2008, Sara established and developed successful engineering business, Four-Tees Engineers Ltd. Her career, which spans 25 years in the construction industry, also includes a good deal of work in the financial sector as an accounting technician. Now, Sara is using her rounded skills and experience to build on VR's success for the future.

Matthew Beard – Contract Manager

Matthew has been in the roofing trade since he left school. Having worked for several sub-contractors in the field in ever more challenging roles and intricate projects, his career bought him into regular contact with VR. Joining the VR team, Matthew's initial role allowed him to continue working with clients on-site. Now office-based, he project manages work from initial enquiry through to project handover.

Chris Morris – Foreman

Leaving school, Chris began work as an apprentice for Vosper Ship Repairers. Here he gained his qualifications as a boiler maker. He later trained as a fabricator welder and has stayed in the structural steel industry since. A well respected foreman for nearly 25 years, Chris joined VR in 2008 and looks forward to many more years doing what he loves best.
